Mammoth of a plane

I just wanted to show off this big old plane I got a while back. It can hog off 1/32 of material and not even flinch. The picture is a little hard to see but trust me . I was using it to take off about 3/4 of an inch of the top of a desk I am making. I know someone out there is saying why did you not just cut it off. Well I have no power in my shop and I am not the good with my cheap $20 saw I got from Lowes. The Plane which you can see on the top of the picture is 26” long and the blade is 2 1/2” wide. It’s a mammoth.<img src="http://<redpre#0>" alt="" /><img src="http://<redpre#2>" alt="" />

WELL I HAVE A NEW SHOP! I MOVED TO FT BENNING GA AND I LIVE ON POST. I WASNT TOO SURE ABOUT WHAT I WOULD END UP WITH BUT I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT I HAVE A ONE CAR GARAGE 10X18. THE DOWN SIDE IS THAT IT HAS NO POWER AND THEY WONT ALLOW ME TO PUT POWER IN IT SO FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS I AM AN UMPLUGGED SHOP. I KIND OFF LIKE THE IDEA BUT NOT TO SURE ABOUT THE PLANING DOWN OFF THE ROUGH LUMBER BUT I CAN PAY TO GET THAT DONE. SO WE WILL SEE HOW THIS WORKS OUT. I HOPE TO POST SOME PICS OF MY NEW SHOP SOON.

YUP I AM MOVING SO I HAD TO CLEAN OUT THE SHOP. YOU NEVER RELIZE HOW MUCH STUFF “JUNK” YOU HAVE TILL YOU HAVE TO MOVE IT OR GET RID OF IT. I AM IN THE ARMY SO I HAVE TO CLUE HOW I AM GOING TO MAKE ROOM FOR MY TOOLS MUCH LESS BE ABLE TO USE THEM WHEN I GET WHERE I AM GOING. I MAY BE FORCED TO WORK IN A TIN SHED WHERE I HIT MY HEAD ON THE ROOF CAUSE IT SO SMALL. WHEN I MOVED INTO THIS HOUSE I HAD A SMALL SHED OUT BACK THAT WAS 12X16 WITH 6 FT TALL WALLS AND RAFTERS THAT I WOULD HIT MY HEAD ON. THAT DIDNT LAST LONG TILL I GOT THE OK FROM MY WIFE TO BUILD A BIGGER ONE. SO I ADDED ON AND ADDED UP NOW ITS A GOOD SIZE 16X20 BUT 14 FT TALL AND PLENTY OF STORAGE UP TOP. I DIDNT RELIZE HOW NICE IT WAS TILL NOW WHERE I DONT KNOW WHERE I WILL WORK. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS FOR A KNOCK DOWN TYPE BUILDING THAT I CAN MOVE EVERY COUPLE YEARS I AM ALL EARS.

NO 7 JOINTER PLANE

I AM LOOKING TO TALK TO ANYONE THAT KNOWS THERE WAY AROUND A NUMBER 7 PLANE. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING IT TO WORK PROPERLY. I BOUGHT IT OF OFF EBAY A FEW YEARS AGO AND AM ABOUT TO JUNK IT IF I CAN’T FIGURE IT OUT. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THAT THE THROUT CLOGGS UP AFTER JUST ONE PASS. I HAVE PUT A NEW HOCK BLADE ON IT AND IT IS THICKER AND I THINK THAT MAYBE SOME OF THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED TO ADJUST THE FROG TO OPEN UP THE THROUT BUT IT DOESN’T SEEM TO ADJUST ANYMORE. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS OF WHAT I AM GOOFING UP?
