I started woodworking around 2004 or so. Since then, I’ve succeeded in turning our 2-car garage into a 0-car garage. My shop really only takes up one side of the garage, but when you throw in the kids’ bikes, wagons, scooters, and other toys, there’s no room left for cars. You can see the before and after photos of my shop. Because I can’t take over the entire garage, taking advantage of every square foot of space is important, as is having mobile tools and workstands. The walls are still somewhat bare, but don’t worry – I have plans for them. I’d still like to make some more storage cabinets for the walls (for hardware, sandpaper, etc.), and I’d like to squeeze a bandsaw in someday.

Spacious workshop. Where you keep you car now?
Overtimes, you would be complaining “no room for Table Saw, Wood Lathe, Dust Collector and Lumber, and… ” Just kidding…

Hey…your’ shop looks great.. how do you like the Dewalt table saw. I was thinking of getting the same one. Can you cut Dados with it?

You have a nice shop space in which to work and you have it well organized. I am surprised that you succeeded in getting all of the garage. If I had tried that with my wife’s side of the garage I can honestly tell you that I would be outside before her truck would be. :)

The DeWalt table saw has worked out very well for me. I bought it used from someone at my work, but it was in great shape when I bought it. I bought the Freud 8” dado blade set, and use it often. You need the dado blade insert for saw though. Fortunately there’s a DeWalt store/service/repair center close to where I live. It’s handy for getting replacement parts, or just asking questions about maintaining my saw.
