Most Viewed Projects - 7 replies
I haven’t been active recently so I may be imagining this but didn’t there used to be a link to the “Most Viewed” projects? I see there’s “Most Favorited” “Most Discussed” and “Editor’s Choice”. Did the “Most Viewed” link get dropped?

Flagging Projects - 4 replies
I was thrilled to read in the last LJ mag that the site now has flagging for those annoying projects posted in error. Is it me or is it just not obvious how to actually flag a project? Has anyone figured out how to flag a project and care to share? Thanks,

Missing Projects - 20 replies
So, when I start looking at new projects, I click the first one and then use the “prev” button under “Everyone’s Projects” to go to the next one and so on. The problem is, sometimes I’m seeing the next project on the “prev” button and when I click it, I go back to the home page for projects instea...

Wild Purpleheart or Bloodwood House - 8 replies
Many of you already know I’m losing my memory. It’s so bad now that I can’t even remember what I’ve forgotton. Anyway, I’m almost sure I saw a post about somebody that made either a Purpleheart or Bloodwood house. That is to say they did the finished carpentry for a house that had all kinds of built-ins and floor...

Blog Reading Enhancement - 1 reply
Hi Martin,I wonder why blog reading doesn’t have the same previous post for the same writer and previous blog for the site type windows on the left side like the projects section does. That way, I could read the blog I click on, choose to read a previous post by the same blogger or choose to move to the next blog in the list without havin...

Stupid Space Bag Commercial - 7 replies
Can’t sleep. Stupid commercail woke me up. Space bags. Who ever thought of those things anyhow? Smush your pillow into the size of a hankerchief. Now I can’t get the idea of using a space bag for veneering out of my mind. Wonder what would happen if I cranked down on one of those things with my 330 horse shop vac? Could I ve...

How come I keep seeing all the slashes in titles around here lately? Seems to happen mostly when someone uses an apostrophe.

The voting (for anonymous entries of which I am not one) is in progress for the 2010 box challenge at Woodwork Forums . I’m a member there so I don’t know what the link will do if you aren’t. To get to the Box Making Forum try this link if you aren’t a member. Hurry, the winners are to be announced on May 30, 2010 but I’m not sure when the votin...

So Random Contest - 7 replies
Hi fellow Lumberjocks and Lumberjills. I was pondering the Gorilla Glue contest that just ended. The winners were picked randomly (as much as anything can be random that is). The Gorilla contest was nothing new but the glue. This may be limiting to some people who don’t have all the leftovers that some people have or don’t have a...

The Gorilla glue contest says “LumberJocks & Gorilla Glue challenges (sic) you to reduce your footprint for Earth Day.” So, how is that possible? You have to use energy to do a project don’t you? Didn’t you? Wouldn’t it reduce your footprint more to just sit at home in the dark? Is that just some feel goo...

So what’s with all the spam recently? I even saw spam posted inside someone’s blog. It may be time for a “Report Spam” button.

Yin Yang Contest - 5 replies
Hi Martin, Hope you get this. I looked at the entries for the Yin Yang contest and a bunch of them were posted 30 or 60 days ago. What’s the deal? I would have thought that the projects would have to be posted after the beginning of the contest, Jan 1, 2010. Thanks,Jim

Search For Projects Without Tags - 11 replies
I noticed that one of the projects I thought I might want to copy at some future date didn’t have any tags. So, I went to the tag searching page and tried searching for it by not entering anything in the search space. That didn’t work so I tried entering a space and that didn’t work either. Does anyone know how to search f...

Martin, I’m not sure if it’s just me but, I don’t want to see incomplete projects in the Projects area. Some of the projects are being posted like Blog entries instead of completed projects. My precious work hours can’t be wasted looking at incomplete projects. So, can I be appointed “Ruler for the Day” ...

Do Two Table Saw Blades Make a Dado Blade? - 65 replies
I can’t afford a Dado set right now and I’m wondering if I can take two regular blades and put them on my table saw at the same time and get a “thin” dado blade or is that unsafe, impossible, stupid, etc. Thanks, Edited 2/19/2011:This subject keeps coming around every several months as other people look for dado or ...

Project Navigation Changes - 2 replies
Martin, Thanks for the new “Next” and “Prev” buttons available from within the initial detail project view screen. I can tell right now that I will be using the “Everyone’s Projects” button for navigating projects from now on. I will offer a suggestion at the risk of sounding like a complainer. I m...

Hurricane Ike Survivor - Houston Report - 25 replies
We are in Katy, TX if you want to map it. The electricity came back on this afternoon at about 5PM so I’m just posting my initial thoughts this morning since I slept for the first time starting at about 6PM last night. LOL. My wife and I stayed with our two daughters and one son in law at our house during the huricane because we are both...

Houston Burls in the Wild - 4 replies
I’m posting these pictures in the hope that someone can identify whether or not these are burls and if they would be worth any money if harvested properly. The first picture is probably live oak. There was only one small trunk about eight inches in diameter showing on the back side. The rest was just one huge ball about three feet in di...

Contest Forum "Grouping" or New Tab - 2 replies
I’d like to see a more prominent spot to find the contests that are active, the projects entered, the results, etc. like maybe a forum group or even a new tab like “Home”, “Projects”, “Blogs”, ”Contests”.

Reclaimed Lumber Ideas - 10 replies
I have a bad habit of stopping to pick up lumber, logs, pallets, anything else made of wood. So far, I’ve learned that in my neighborhood, the best place to pick up usable hard wood is at a tile store that sells imported tiles. I’ve gotten a lot of wood that resembles Jatoba, American walnut, more pine than you can shake a stick at...
