Location: Deadwood, South Dakota

I stepped out of the corporate world on the 26th of July 2013, we moved from Katy Texas to Lead, South Dakota and I have rented a 600 square foot shop in Deadwood a small town with a lot of wild west history. My shop is just three blocks from Mount Moriah Cemetery the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.

I have stepped up my woodworking game and have ventured in to other types of media such as glass, leather, tile, mirrors, cork, cardstock, etc… Along with the usual tools in a woodworking shop I have added a CNC machine and a laser engraver. I will be working on building my business these next couple of years making products to sell to tourists and the bikers that come here for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (Sturgis is just 15 miles away). It is my hope to make enough during the tourist season so I can spend the rest of the year designing new products, stretching my abilities and making what I want.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Sorry I’m late but let me add my welcome to you as well. This is a fun and informative site. I hope you enjoy the interaction.
