I stepped out of the corporate world on the 26th of July 2013, we moved from Katy Texas to Lead, South Dakota and I have rented a 600 square foot shop in Deadwood a small town with a lot of wild west history. My shop is just three blocks from Mount Moriah Cemetery the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.
I have stepped up my woodworking game and have ventured in to other types of media such as glass, leather, tile, mirrors, cork, cardstock, etc… Along with the usual tools in a woodworking shop I have added a CNC machine and a laser engraver. I will be working on building my business these next couple of years making products to sell to tourists and the bikers that come here for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (Sturgis is just 15 miles away). It is my hope to make enough during the tourist season so I can spend the rest of the year designing new products, stretching my abilities and making what I want.

Got to love free advertising, today I made the front page of the Black Hills Pioneer for the stalagmite stand I built. The article was rather large with the first half dedicated to Wonderland Cave and the second half dedicated to my shop and the ...
It has taken a lot of design work, but the stand build for the stalagmite is under way. One of the biggest problems to overcome was the uneven contour on the back of the stalagmite, I decided to build a cradle for it out of reinforced concrete. ...
I have been asked to build a display stand for a 60 million year-old Saw Tooth Stalagmite that will be displayed in the Deadwood Visitors Center. The stalagmite weighs 450 pounds and is about 3 1/2 feet tall and 28 inches across at the widest poi...
