If there is anyone who would like to go to the beach with me and get some wood. Just pay for gas and we can load up and have a great day. Just came back from getting a load yesterday. It was a fun day.

I’ll be on the next plane out Greg. You’re such a tease. :o)
Hope you get many more loads out of the pile.

Greg, just got back from skiing Mt Bachelor and am home with the kids today while the Wife is at work, or I would love to go. One question, do you need a permit or anything to collect wood from the beach? We head over to Newport or Lincoln city a few times a year and I always see lots of wood on the beaches.

As I understand the rules it will be posted on the egress of the beaches in Oregon. You will see a sign that says no chainsaws along with other “don’t do’s”. but even where it is posted no chain saw, you can still carry wood or sand off the beach with no permit required. Where it is not posted you can bring your chain saw and cut away. The only stipulation is you have to be able carry it off you can not drive on the beach except areas like Coos Bay. I don’t know much about that area. Hope this helps. I just wrote and article and posted it on LJ and by website of this last experience. Check it out!

Greg, check Craig’s List for a cheep barge and pull the logs off the beach into the water, then take them somewhere you can load them on your trailer and take them home for processing.
