I live in British Columbia, Canada and last month while travelling through Southern Oregon, I stopped in at a Myrtlewood factory near Reedsport. After looking at all the beautiful woodcrafts, I asked the lady in the store where I could buy some myrtlewood. She said “Come with me” and took me through a door into a very large workshop that was full of myrtlewood. She told me to take my time and look around and if there was anything that I wanted, just to bring it out front to her. Well, we were on vacation and the trunk of my car was pretty full of baggage and stuff, but I did find a nice (small) burl which I purchased. As a matter of fact, this morning I put some lemon oil on it and later a coat of varnish, more coats coming later. I have decided to make a clock with it, going to Lee Valley tomorrow to get all the clock parts. I only wish that I’d had more room in the car, would have loved to bring home more myrtlewood.
