My Painting and drying Racks

First I see the painting rack for boards and I think, “ok, nice idea”. then I see the door on a marble and think, this guy is really into painting ease. Very cool.

I’m wondering, the door rotates on the marble but two things puzzle me. 1. did you have to make a small dent in the bottom of the door too? and 2. What holds the top? I can see the stick but is there more to it?

over the door ,
there is an arm with a brace ,
and a bolt or dowel ?
maybe in center of door top/bottom ,
can rotate door ?

Craftsman on the lake; yas a small dent is the place when the marble make his job.
