« Part 2: Determining how to detail the legs Part 3 of Three drawer hall cerdenza series no next part

I’m going to end this Blog here, as there won’t be any new details in my build that may benefit others regarding my process, as the future owner of this credenza visited during the Easter holiday and here’s where we stand:

The legs are not to be detailed with embellishment as I thought I might be doing & described prior. While this piece resembles a French Country style, the most favorite style of the future owner is Shaker, so this piece will be limited in excess details or decorations.

I will post when finished, as a complete project, and this is where the project stands right now:

The side panels are stained ahead of glue-up, to accommodate wood movement:

Looks great, Tom. Are you going to stain the frame members or leave them natural? The contrast really does look nice. I’m sorry to hear that you will not be including the beading detail. I look forward to the finish project. Kudos!

Ron,

I simply stained the panel for natural wood movement, to prevent a white line down a side if it shrinks in the future. When completed, all visible components will be stained the same, it’s General Finishes “Candlelite” gel stain.
