Need some help from wood turners.
My son is 12 years old and wants to turn pens. I have a lathe and have turned a few pens and a couple of other things just trying to learn. We (he) turned a couple pens this past weekend but I’m not sure if we’re doing it the right way. Is there a good book or DVD that explains how to turn pens, all kinds. After that I think he might want to get into turning other things like bowls and vases, is there a good book or DVD for that. I really want to teach and learn the correct and safe way of working on the lathe. Sunday in the afternoon he comes up to me and says he wants to turn a pen.
