Six Old Planes #2: Stanley Bailey No 4C, Type 11 - with patent date on iron

One item from this set is a Bailey No 4C, Type 11. I had been looking for one of these for a reasonable price a few years ago and ended up with a pretty rough one (not corrugated). The one in the “six plane” group is excellent. Not sharpened yet, so no shavings. No time to write much. Let the photos speak. It has 4 deficiencies (other than a slightly short iron).1) The depth adjuster stud is loose in the frog. It’s the only one I have that has come out of the frog. It wiggles a bit even put in as tightly as I am able by fingers. I think I can put some thread-locker on it and tighten it up.2) The blade is bent a bit near the top. Has no effect on function, b...
