Let’s see…. tomorrow I sand the table top, sand the raised panel faces… oil the panels, oil the table again and then take it up North to do the finish and attach the top, I should be finished sometime next week, and then I’ll post them.

And then I can get started on the … Coffee Cart, the 3 Gun Carts and the Medicine Cabinet

I’m glad to hear that you’re busy, but try to squeeze in that table between jobs. After all your the main man, or the originator of this contest.

Sounds right. Come on now Obi… a lumberjock should be able to finish a coffee and build a coffee cart, 3 gun carts, a medicine cabinet and a Greene and Greene side table (interpretation) in 64 and 3/4 days…. tops. You’re not getting out of it that easy.

How to Enter and Official Rules

1. Just add your entry as the regular project and tag it with challenge01 (of course you may add additional tags too). Valid entry must be showing a clear, finished attempt to build the table.

2. The entry deadline is May 31st.

I was not aware of that. No wonder he’s so upset about it. I just ordered another one for myself. I plan on wearing it to the next Kentuckiana Woodcrafters Club meeting so I can spread the word to my fellow woodworkers here in the Bluegrass State about this wonderful site and contest.

Just to let you all know that i haven’t died or quit, I just finished the Gun Cart, coffee table is done, and I cut the aprons for the challenge and then didnt like them so I need to cut more. I’ve got legs in the shop and Dennis, you’ll like my legs, Buddy ;).

I still need to get into the shop, but I think I’ll do a little work on the table Friday and Saturday if posible. I need to mortise the legs, tenoon the aprons, cut the shelf and the stretchers, and maybe I’ll spray some shiney stuff on the table top.
