You are jumping the gun Obi. Martin will get something posted on the welcome page. We don’t have all of the particulars as to finish dates etc.

Oh well … we can still have the challenge if it’s only between you and I. there doesn’t have to be any prizes … looks like all the other jocks are skeered anyways. Besides this is MY blog and I’ll lie if I want to, lie if I want to, lie if I want to, it’s my blog and I’ll lie if I want to… (you know the rest of the song)

I’m famous for jumping the gun, Karson. It’s called walking by faith. IS there a door? Is it open? If not kick it in and see whats behind it. Besides, it’s easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.

If you recall I stuck a Lumberjocks logo on my website without asking. Tell the world that there’s a race and someone will show up. I expect Mark to put down his M&M’s long enough to build a table. Dick will build anything, I’m sure he can build one. If Dusty has gotten out of jail for freezin that poor old woman to death, I’ll bet he’s in …

Hopefully we’ll get all of the particulars out in a day or two. And then we can get to work.

But just to let you know you are probably behind because I’ve cut all the rough pieces and glued up the top. (Not the breadboards yet)

Just something that I had laying around. (not pine, I don’t have pine laying around.)

You bet, I’m going for the stash, but I don’t know which one will look better. This is no crap sticks. It’s imported Dude. But just laying around. Besides anything left on the property when I die, will probably be sold at garage sale disaster prices. So I might as well use it in the challenge.

There’s not enough there to build an entertainment center. And it’s tough to pick up one board, little lone a completed project.

All jigs are acceptable
that table looks like three different sizes of wood
holes in the aprons are optional
dowels are optional

Everything is optional. Drawers, no drawers, carvings, woodburning, minature, fullsize or larger, Rustic or tradational. Attached to a bed or to a sofa, sitting in front of a TV holding the remotes. Everyone, and I request “EVERYONE” should attempt to make something and call it a Green and Greene side table (SOMETHING)

I’m guessing somewhere around the 10-12 Bf range.

I’ve got one cut out so I’ll try to measure it.

Hopefully we will some rules up soon. What I want is the builders interperation of that table. Do what you want. It’s your choice. It can be a Rustic Greene and Greene, it can be walnut, cherry, barn boards your choice. You can have drawers or no drawers. Big or small or minature.

If you neeed the plans to start and you don’t have the pdf’s, PW sent them to me to send to the LumberJocks who want them. My email address is on my signature line.

Take a piece of wood (or anything). Make something out of it (just like, sorta like, or not at all like, but) inspired by the picture Obi posted/plans Karson sends you, then call it a Greene and Greene Side table!

Patience? Karson is the one that has already cut out his. I just saw the picture on the cover of the magazine and decided I wanted to make one just like it, using different woods. That’s what started it all. To make a table that looked like the cover… No whosits or whatsits, just thingies. And Im not sure what the thingies on the sides of the top are called, because I didnt read the article… I’m old school, I just look at the pictures.

I’m going to make MY table according to the picture on the cover, I’m going to use the wood I bought JUST for that table. I didnt read the article so the only measurements I really had to go on was about 24” tall.

Since the wood for the legs cost me about $50.00 and I can make two tables, I’m going to make a set of them and sell them for an incredible amount of money. Probably $400.00 per table. If I don’t sell them I will be the only person on the world with a matching set of tables that are made exactly like these and when I die, they’ll be worth about $25,000.00 each.

The other twin, I dug through the woodpile and have found a couple of boards that might match my requirements. The wood is 8 years old and it’s not been planed yet.

One of the boards is 19” wide so I’ll be able to make a one board top on it.
