I’m in progress of making a bin for my records because it’s a lot nicer flipping through records than tilting your head to the side. I found a cool plan to make one using a single sheet of plywood. I decided to spruce it up a bit, maple veneer plywood, walnut plugs to cover screws, walnut edge banding, and why not an inlay?

I picked up some veneers from the store, I got walnut burl, birds-eye maple and purpleheart. I watched a few tutorials on youtube and figured I could do a few layers, if I could do one, I could do a couple more.

Here is the end result.

Here is a shot of my progress. I’m going to build a drawer for under the shelf, I’m waiting on the slides to get here though.

Very impressive for your first inlay well done, i have been meaning for quite some time now to try an inlayed piece but have not got around to it. ( I think yours is probably better than my first one)
