Welcome Lidiye. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Welcome to LJs, Lidiya. I love your carvings. They have such a sense of whimsy about them, and they show a lot of personality. Thanks for sharing them, and I’m glad you’re here!

Lidiya, speaking as an admirer of your carvings, could I be so bold as to ask you to please put a picture up of your work table and the tools that you use to do your wonderful work? As one who is learning to wood carve I believe that it would be an inspiration to me to see your workspace and your carving tools.

I am in total awe of your carvings. This is something I could only wish I could learn to do. Family legend is that my Great-great grandfather carved when he was a young man in Northern Germany and made a living carving wooden shoes before he immigrated to Ohio in 1868. I spent much time with my grandfather as a boy. He always made sure I had a pocket knife and knew how to sharpen it. We spent many summer evenings whittleing something out on the porch. I will visit your Etsy site.

Wonderful carvings Lidiya. How did you learn to carve so well?
