My name is Nico and I am 26yrs old. I was born and raised in the Philippines where I developed my craftsmanship from my dad at a young age. I didn't consider myself as an artist until I attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and completed two bachelor degrees on Environmental Studies & Studio Art: Sculpture(2005-2010). While studying in the U.S., I also worked as the head-carpenter for the theatre shop of my college and also as a grounds maintenance that dealt with plant propagation and pruning.

I returned to the Philippines in July 2010 to establish "Studio10.10", a design firm that specializes in projects (residential or commercial) and artworks done with reclaimed old wood. Together with my brother we do interiors design, high quality carpentry, art installations and shows. I consider my pieces as contemporary artworks that belongs in a museum and represents Philippine culture.

HI Nico, this is a great site. Truly a place where artists, professionals, and hobbyists can share ideas, concepts, and feed back. It has brought my work into new areas of interest, even beyond woodworking. And having a community out here is liberating and enlightening.
