Spent the 80's in the military and 90's in the family real estate business. Returned to the Army after 9/11 and injured in 2004. Several back surgeries later I was released from active duty.
I love to brew and drink beer, watch movies, work on my hundred year old house and read, read and read some more. I’ve always loved the feel and look of good quality wood work, both in furniture and home construction finish work. For years the idea of woodworking has been rolling around in the dark corners of my head, and it’s time to do it.
I’ve purchased about several woodworking videos and I’m slowly working my way through them.
My garage is 20x18, a little less then 400sf to work with to build a shop and still have room for my motorcycle and kayak.
I want to work with hand tools, I can do with out the noise and dust of power machines, and I buying a few here and there.
I have two dogs that make me laugh and two cats I’ll feed to the dogs if I ever run out of dog food… Just kidding. I really like cats, they taste like chicken.
Have I rambled on enough, will this make a profile.

Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to what I can learn here and the interaction with woodworkers who know what they’re doing.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Wisty
