Part 1: The Long Absence

11-01-2013 01:00 AM by Nate Meadows | 11 comments »

My Dear Friends, isn’t life just interesting? Emma Smith has said, “Life is like the river, sometimes it sweeps you gently along and sometimes the rapids come out of nowhere.” I have been riding some rapids lately. Not huge terrible ones, but the sort that keep you concentrated on what is right in front of you so that you cannot look away because if you do, your kayak will be overturned and you along with it. My woes are nothing special, my life no different that many ...

Part 2: Flown

12-30-2013 07:26 PM by Nate Meadows | 12 comments »

Well unfortunately I don’t have good news, or any updates on my projects yet. My beautiful wife went into the ER Saturday after three days of nausea and vomiting and was them flown out of our local hospital to the one in Reno, Nevada. Thankfully I was able to fly with her! We are still here, trying to sort things out. It is all related to her previous history. Her liver is now malfunctioning and they are having a hard time putting a finger on it. As of this morning, another surgery was ...

Part 3: Static

01-05-2014 06:49 PM by Nate Meadows | 14 comments »

Well family we are still here in the hospital. After a huge battery of test lasting all week they still don’t know exactly what is going on with my wonderful wife’s liver. They have taken biopsies but those will not be in until Tuesday. What we do know is that her liver is just sitting there, static. It is not pushing things through like it should. We may end up going to a hospital in San Francisco! Yesterday was my mothers funeral/Celebration of Life, so I left T for a little whi...

Part 4: Update/Merry Christmas Late/Happy New Year

12-28-2013 12:30 AM by Nate Meadows | 22 comments »

My Dear Friends, I am sorry I am late in wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I do hope you had a great time with your families and friends. Alas, my update on the project is really just bad news. My mother was killed just before Christmas, down the road from my house as she was heading home for family dinner with all of us. She was hit head on by another car. The Sheriff said she was killed instantly so at least that is some good news. It has been a difficult time. All 43 o...

Part 5: The Big City

01-12-2014 07:55 PM by Nate Meadows | 17 comments »

LJ Family, Thank you for your patience! Much has happened! Last Saturday T was discharged from the hospital in Reno even though she had a low grade fever and her labs were climbing. It was like since they could not figure the problem out they sent us home! 12 hours later we were back in our local hospital! Two days later we flew to Cal. Pacific University Medical Center in San Francisco where t had surgery the next day. She has a great team of liver specialists working on her and we will n...

Part 6: Long Haul

01-27-2014 12:22 PM by Nate Meadows | 14 comments »

My dear friends and family! Thank you for your patience and for your kind words of encouragement, your thoughts and prayers, and for your friendship. Doubtless this has been some of the hardest few months of my life. First thing first, Theresa is out of the hospital down in the Bay Area. She had surgery shortly after we got there, where they placed a stint in her liver and took more biopsies. Then after a few days of intense care, they finally diagnosed her with a very, very rare auto i...

Part 7: Hospital Again

01-29-2014 07:15 PM by Nate Meadows | 17 comments »

Dear Family and Friends, Again I find myself apologizing for not replying to all your kind posts. Normally I make it a point to reply and return the kindness. Returning and saying “Thank You’ is very important to me! However, Monday I ended up back in the ER! The pain was the worst is has ever been. And of course every test came back normal! They are thinking it could one of two or both things. Both of which require further testing. The same explosion that gave me my head in...

Part 8: Admitted

02-04-2014 01:52 PM by Nate Meadows | 28 comments »

Brothers, Sisters, Friends, I am in the hospital, and that is why I have been dormant. Super Bowl Sunday was not just painful for the Broncos and their fans. I went to church hurting and had to leave half way through the service the pain was just to much to bear. I went home and took some heavy medication and started to feel better. I was feeling so much better that I decided to go to my outlaws for the Super Bowl party. Upon arrival I was super hungry smelling all the food my father-i...

Part 9: Finally Home

02-08-2014 05:30 PM by Nate Meadows | 20 comments »

Dearest Friends and Family! Thank you so very much for your kind encouragement, your prayers and your ever persistent caring. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday morning, after having abdominal surgery on Wens the 5th of February. Even though I went through ever test known to nurse and doctor…or so it seems:), every thing was coming up normal save some erosions in my stomach. Although those would cause pain they had not progressed into ulcers and therefore the doctors were s...

Part 10: Improvement! and Thanks

03-19-2014 04:18 PM by Nate Meadows | 16 comments »

Dear Friends and Family, I apologize for the terribly long delay. After the last update, I spend many days zoned out, resting. And then I spent many more processing the last few months. It has been quit a hay ride, to say the least. I definitely receded within myself for awhile, so if I did not answer your emails or messages, please! forgive me. Things are definitely looking up! I am feeling so much better. I saw the surgeon this last week and he said that indeed all the bio test result...

Part 11: Processing

03-24-2014 09:19 AM by Nate Meadows | 9 comments »

So my mother has been off the earth for 4 months and 5 days. Christ has given me a profound sense of peace, knowing she is indeed in heaven with Him. That is far from saying I am free from grief. There are days that I miss her so deeply it feels as if a I had a spear running through my chest and acid in my eyes. I have included two pictures of her and I. Both from when I was very young.:). My full name is Nathanael and yes I am a twin! She is standing next to me in the second picture in th...
