Dear Family and Friends,

Again I find myself apologizing for not replying to all your kind posts. Normally I make it a point to reply and return the kindness. Returning and saying “Thank You’ is very important to me!

However, Monday I ended up back in the ER! The pain was the worst is has ever been. And of course every test came back normal! They are thinking it could one of two or both things. Both of which require further testing. The same explosion that gave me my head injury also damaged my bladder. It could be something going on there. A very uncomfortable scope will have to be redone! (I have had two already and they suck!! No other way to put it, but they do! I will of course do it, but they suck!)

The other is issues with in the gastro system. A scope needs to go down from the mouth and up from…below! At this point I am hurting so bad I really don’t care! I just want them to figure it out, diagnose it, and then treat it. I absolutely hate this “everything is normal” thing, and then they look at me like I am crazy. Right, like I would volunteer to be back in the hospital after the last few months my family has gone through!

I am home know but hurting! I have some heavy drugs and an appt on Monday at the VA to get the further testing started. Now it is a waiting game!

Anyway, Thank you all so much for your kindness and caring! It is such a huge source of comfort and energy to know you guys are there and pulling for me, praying for me and T. I really appreciate you all!!

im so very sorry nate, i know what pain is like and im so very sorry your in it, the human body is a wonderful thing, a true gift from God, and because its made of blood and flesh, as you know, it has problems, and it can hurt huh brother, well i wont preach to the choir, just know your in my prayers and i think of you often, i hope they find the problem quickly…and you can rest and relax…times like this always let us remember when times are good, and your time of good will return…try to think of things you want to do this summer, and remember the wonderful life your mom gave to you…, and try not to think of the pain….sleep when you can…your in my heart bro…bob

In my thoughts Nate.
Hang in there and plan projects in your mind when you need to escape.
I find it can help sometimes to get the mind off the pain.

Best wishes for a real diagnosis and a real recovery.

Nate, you don’t need to apologize to us schmucks. Get your self well and then worry about us. You and the wife have been thru some tough times. Hope it all turns around soon. If the VA Docs aren’t helping you don’t be afraid to move on to a University Hosp.

Hang on Nate!

Just the though of scopes make me shiver.
I can’t believe with all that technology they still can’t diagnose properly.
Hopefully they will find the root cause this time.

Nate, Shipwright’s advice has worked for me as far as letting my mind go somewhere and focus on something other than the pain. Sounds crazy but it helps.
I’m hoping for a diagnosis so they can get on with the fix for your pain. You have suffered enough!

I too agree that Shipwrights advise is sound.
I’ve been down for a month but it seems like over a year.
Lately I am sneaking more and more into my shop and getting little bits done here and there.
While I was banned from working I spent my time thinking about plans for making different projects.
I am now bringing some of those projects together a bit at a time.

Do what the docs say and hopefully they will figure out where and what they need to poke to get the problem fixed. We’re pullin’ for ya.

Oh, Yeah…..... if it hadn’t been for LJ’s and a couple of other places I hang out, I wouldn’t have gotten by as well as I did.

Been there, done that with the tests. Not easy, but this too will pass. As Shipwright suggests, plan projects
and ideas in your head until your hands can do them. Keep up your prayers also, that is the one conversation
that has always helped me the most. Hope to hear better news next time.
