My house is surrounded by other woodworkers. The weather is getting nicer, so today I am sitting at the table with the double doors open. I am trying to do insurance billing and chart notes, with the insurance billing being about as fun as sticking my head in a blender, in fact, it makes me want to stick my head in a blender!

I can hear a planer in one direction, an air nailer and compressor in another, and the occasional buzz of a table saw in another direction. Why aren’t these people at work! Why do they tempt me so viciously to veer away from the table and out into my shop? I love this noise, but I can’t stand it!

Back to work…..

well the paper you re writing on came from a tree, so you really are doing some wood work, your drawing designs on it so that people will give you money, so its a win win…....but i know what you mean…..hang in there, maybe just do a little…or at least just go in and rearange some things, turn the table saw on, make sure it still works…....but dont hurt anything….....

I have heard that work is the curse of the drinking class, but I find it is also the curse of the woodworker. That
is all right though, think how much you can relax and enjoy the shop when all that nasty stuff is finished. Just
like getting pecan pie because you finished your spinach, but that would mean a hour or so in the kitchen, so
forget about the pie, sorry I mentioned it.

Your turn will come. Don’t get too wrapped up in work. It’s bad for you.
