With son #2 on the way we were in need of a dresser to act as a changing table for the new baby. So instead of finding another one at a garage sale, I accelerated my plans to build a new bedroom set for xmas and am building my wife’s dresser now so her old dresser can move to Alex’s room.
Today I glued up the top to her dresser, which will have a finished size of 64” x 24”. This is the largest top I have ever glued up and having the huge 4’ x 60” outfeed table was sure nice to have as a work surface. 12 clamps later and I have it all snug as a bug in a rug. In another 24 hours I can take it out of the clamp setup and put the new drum sander to work on its third piece. I want to build a tension fence for the sander though to keep constant pressure on the piece as it passes over the drum. Doing the other pieces, which were only 36” long were tough enough to keep constant pressure.
