I just got a FaceBook notice from my older daughter, “Be on the lookout for a large gift from Grizzly arriving at your house.” I have no idea what it might be.

ahh yes..grizzly Adams or grizzly bear which ever it is will raise your hair, the joy of a gift will be coming to you, in the mean time it leaves you wondering what to do…make room for something as big as a bear and think with excitement of when it will be there…..........grizz

IT’S A BANDSAW!!!!
Grizzly called yesterday to schedule delivery, but I wasn’t smart enough to ask the model number. I’ll be happy with almost any Grizzly model.
I am so excited about it! Perhaps I should have an extra pair of pants on hand. They estimate delivery Thursday or Friday.
I’ve never used a bandsaw, so time to get some books, videos, and/or online instruction. Suggestions??? I do know this will be a whole lot safer than using my chain saw to trim turning blanks.
Seems UPS will be using a tracker-trailer to delivery and they won’t drive up the driveway, so getting it into the workshop and set up is going to be an interesting project. I’ll document and share the process.

Oh, I forgot to respond.
Yes, I am very lucky. I had to raise my daughters alone after their mother died of brain cancer. They were 8 and 12 at the time. I did not always use the best judgment in raising them, but then we never get a “How to” book for those situations. I did make sure they knew they were loved, and that I was trying my best. They both completed college, have very good jobs, successful marriages, and are very caring and loving mothers.
Grizz, life has been good here in western North Carolina. Would you believe I have yet to go fly fishing. I did get my gear in the truck a couple of times, but one thing or another got in the way. I still need to work so time needs to be allocated between that, normal home owner stuff, and the workshop. Finding time to fish was easier in New Hampshire where the canoe and pond were in the front yard, and I could catch my limit within 30-45 minutes while having my morning coffee.
