We moved to western North Carolina in the fall of 2010, and bought a house with an existing workshop (16’x’20’). The last person to use the shop had a small refrigerator for beer, TV, and big easy chair in it, so I’ve spent my limited free time making it mine. To date, I’ve torn out most of the old cabinets, replaced the light fixtures, installed a plywood subfloor, repainted, installed a heat source, resurfaced the cabinets I kept, put up some pegboard and shelving and lumber racks, and built a workbench. Now I’m in the middle of building a Stefang inspired shop cart. Someday the shop will be operational, but in the meantime I’m making a lot of mistakes and (hopefully) learning a lot.

Watching Craig’s List finally paid off. I found a Delta 22-590 planer in almost new shape for $250 at a pawn. I’ve never dealt with a pawn shop before, and this was a pleasant experience. My only concern is it really spits out the wood ch...
I’ve already posted one entry about my old workshop, and now want to add one for my new shop, but can’t find how to do it. Looks like we get only one shop posting per member. Is there a way to add a second shop, so should I edit my e...
