My pilgrimage to Mecca

I had to travel, in order to be seen by some eye specialists.

I sort of figured I was near Mecca.

Anybody wanna’ play … “Guess what I found ??”

It looks really lonely and bored, doesn’t it ?

I wish they’d invite me in. It’s amazing how quickly I could screw up some nice lumber, in there.

Didn’t see the Big Guy, but … certainly NOT for lack of looking :-)

Dude? Is that Norm’s place?

If so, that is waaaaaay cool.

If not, I look like a fool.

That’s the New Yankee Workshop. Where’s my shiny new dime (prize)?

I thought the location of that place was Top Secret?

Indeed, it IS the New Yankee Workshop.

The ghost of the Man In Plaid hangs around the walls. I felt honored to be there.

The location IS top secret. Notice that I didn’t say where it is, or where I am ;-)

By the way … I figured out where Norm LIVES, now, too. There’s a small general store in the middle of town. I stopped by twice, for coffee—hoping he might be stopping by for a gallon of milk (I later learned that Norm doesn’t DRINK milk. He drinks wood glue and eats only nails).

So far … no sightings, though :-(

David: Nope. I’m still there. May be there for another week … or two … or three. It’s a long process, and not the most FUN one, either ;-)

I’d be grateful if you didn’t slow down the prayers, just yet, in other words :-)

As to my marbles …. lost a long, long, LONG time ago :-) Pretty sure they are NOT coming back, either !

Ellen: I’m told Grizz’s place is far nicer. That’s how you know it wasn’t ‘Bama :-)

Cool…. the middle shots are through windows or…. is that how you see the world with your eye issue? Not meant to be a jibe – trying to get a perspective.

I thought that Waldo wore a stocking cap, not plaid shirts.

mtkate:

LOL !

While that’s probably not TOO far off of how I see … the shots WERE taken through the sliding glass door, visible in the other pictures.

One time, my lens bumped the glass. I had this image of an alarm going off, and my happy butt being dragged off to jail.

The things we do for Norm, huh ? ;-)

Grizz did, indeed find me. I looked at the hotel phone, ringing, and thought … who the h… would be calling me, here ?

Who else … but the grizzman ! :-) I think he played Sam Spade, when he was younger.

a1Jim: the actual property on which the shop sits IS private. I wouldn’t have trespassed.

The property from which the shots were taken, though, is just off of a parking lot for a market where I DID buy some fruit, so …... ;-)

Charles: I’ve got some pretty major problems with my eyes. Looks like I was having some new problems. Only a few places in the world that can deal with the sort of eye stuff that I’ve got, so … when I need work … I travel.

I miss my shop :-(

But I got my Norm fix :-)

One more little detail:

The address listed on the New Yankee Workshop website is NOT the address of the shop. It’s the address of the business office.

They’re not really anywhere NEAR each other ;-)
