Having grown up in the under the guided eyes of a general conractor I began my love affair early working in the summers for my father's firm. Not straying too far I then chose to attend University and took Engineering at STFX and TUNS in Nova Scotia.

I work as a Project Manager in a firm that represents owners in thier facility constrcution projects. It is an exciting career but none of these are my true passion. I leave that to my dog, my wife and mostly my new born daughter. On the off times I get to go to my shop.

Previous to my shop I used my father's but having just built my house, followed quickly by the shop and collecting tools I am just begining to get back into wood working. I prefeer working with mixed species of hardwoods in my furniture pieces and this also comes out in my house and I avoid stains...frankly I think I hate stain...why would anyone want to distort the natural beauty of God's creation with a stain. Now to get off that rant I also enjoy creating one of a kinds. I have only tried to ever turn a few pieces of wood and that was enough to scare me off but envy those who can...someday maybe. I have just aquired an old Delta shaper that is the latest learning curve I am on. I typically learn by trial and error and went searching for advice on my new shaper and landed here.

I think this site is going to be worthwhile and will post pics of my shop, past and future projects, tools, etc soon.
