I have a shoe… it may not be pretty and it may not be perfect but I have a miniature wooden shoe that looks like a shoe.
I won’t point out the flaws because, well, what’s the point? If you see the flaws then you know they are there and I know they are there.. if you don’t see them, why would I want to ruin your good critique! Ha. :)
My daughter was here this afternoon and saw the shoe sitting on the table. She said it was so cute and she liked it—and “it feels so soft”. I think I’ll hide the shoe now and leave it as 100% rave reviews heheee.
There are the last little “this and that’s” to do to finish it but I’m afraid to touch it now in case I made it worse than it currently is.
I think I’ll just sit with it for a few days and just get to know it in the condition it is right now.
“Hello shoe”.

It’s quite a coincidence that I was writing a comment on #8 while you were posting this one. <(:O}&

If Debbie shows a picture of her shoe before the unveiling next month, we will all have to beat her with wet shoe laces!! Hers is probably so good that we would all see it and give up on our own! NO peeking!!! :)

Thats a good one Debbie.
I have just sawdusted myself silly this afternoon and thought exactly the same thing when I finished.
I have a shoe that actually looks like a shoe.
Still have a couple more fiddly bits as mine is a boot and ….well, it just takes tooooo many brain cells working at once!! So it will have to wait til tomorrow.

and now I feel that my shoe isn’t worthy (big grin) .. If I work really hard, maybe I can make a second one – that is better- – and nobody will ever know! :D

You keep putting yourself down, I am sure your shoe will be just as good if not better than my boot. But you should make that other one, then you will have a pair! :-)
I only chose the boot as I am not a shoe connoisseur like Jordan and didn’t want to be constantly looking at a running shoe. So my husbands smelly old hiking boot looked far more interesting :-) And along the way I redecorated it for him too !!!!!! (Inside and out!)
Maybe I should enter that one, as it probably has more wood in it that the one I am carving!

not putting myself down .. just recognizing the times when I lost focus or will-power :)
This really has been a journey of self-awareness for me, as all experiences are. But in the end, I carved a shoe! And it looks like a shoe! And regardless of the personal journey, that’s pretty cool.
It sounds like you have had a lot of fun—right from choosing the footwear to use as the inspiration! lol
I can’t wait to see your creation. What an adventure we have been on
