Morning everyone and welcome to Mr.Tom’s blog. Found out several years ago it’s good to take time and write down what’s on your mind or what problems you may be having in life. Got this idea from a doctor that I was going to after having more problems in my life than I felt I should be having. Okay it was about women. Couldn’t seem to stay married. For a fact that isn’t what I want to talk about today.
Got a couple of new turning tools yesterday and excited about seeing how they work out for me. I haven’t been doing turning work that long but it seems to come to me pretty easy. Thank God for giving me the ability to do about anything I want to when it comes to working with my hands and also my mind.
I tried working with the tools yesterday and didn’t do as well as I have hoped so I sent off a letter to the maker and just asked for help. What was I doing wrong and what should I do different. Of course he got back with me and got my answer so today I am going to give it another try and feel sure every thing is going to be okay.
Want go into any details about the tools or the maker until I feel okay with them, but if things go as planned I will let you know about these tools. I just happen to come across this man’s name on line and got on the phone and talked to both he and his wife a few days ago. Happy to say they were very nice and answered all my question.
Also going to post a picture of my latest project that I made from cedar. I had some scrap lumber that wasn’t good enough to use for making furniture and just don’t like to toss out wood if I can find a use for it. I cut and glued several pieces of 6×6 pieces about 1 ½ thick. After letting them dry for a couple of days put it on the lathe and today you will see the finish product which I plan on giving my little lady on Monday for her birthday along with a couple of other items. Plan on posting the three items some time tomorrow provided I get the other two finished.
Things are going great here in Landrum South Carolina. Had rain for the past few days and I think God for that. We can always use rain. Life can’t go on without water. Sun is out now and looks like a great day for me to get off my butt and get started. So for now I will quit. Said what was on my mind and now ready to work. I love working and love working on things I love to do.
Take care, have a great day and may God bless you, and your family.
