Good bandsaw for a small shop

Good bandsaw for a small shop

I wanted a small bandsaw to cut some curved parts from time to time. When I saw this one at Menards for just $229 it just had a look of being solid and the right thing for my small garage shop. The table is cast iron, and the housing is heavy duty steel and the motor appears to be a sealed 1/2 hp motor. You can see the specs at Menards site. When the fence slides from one tube to the other the angle will change slightly. Initially I was thinking to...

Not a very good value

Not a very good value

I picked this up on sale from Rockler recently and put it together this weekend. First off, the box it comes in is very small. In fact, it looks tiny next to my 16 gal Ridgid vac. The Vortex comes in two halves allowing it to nest inside the carton. Clever packing. I was afraid it might leak at the joint, but it proved to be a nice tight fit. Assembly: Not hard at all. The directions are clear and well written, but… There are two connectors for the intake and out...
