Wow, what a hot summer on Long Island. Every time I attempted to make sawdust, I started to sweat on the tools, and then the wood. My shop has heat, but no AC so the summer months are spent reading the array of magizines that come in the mail, and trips to the local library to find a jem in the woodworking section.
Finally I’m back in the shop. Currently I’m finishing the last of three cherry display cases for an optomistrist friend so he can display eyeglass frames in his office.
The caption for the photo goes like this….........
Three HP cabinet table saw…$2000.00
One HP 6” Jointer…$400.00
Random Orbital Sander, with many grits of paper…$300.00
Benchtop 13” Surface Planer…$300.00
Preparing 4’ x 8” Cherry boards completly by hand with my fathers old Stanley-bailey 5 1/4…Priceless!

I know what you mean by wanting to get back into the shop, the temperature here in Chandler is a cool 99 degrees down from 112 a few days ago. Still to hot to make saw dust for me, will wait until it cools off to 90 in a few weeks we hope. I have been spending a lot of time and days playing with sketchup and with some help, can now make woodworking plans and respectable drawnings. Not any where in the calaber of Dave Richards, but respectable.
