Im making a dresser and don’t want to buy cheap drawer slides and can’t afford the expensive ones. I am a flooring installer and have some oak hardwood flooring scraps. I want to cut out the tongue and groove and use it as the guides for the drawers. They would be screwed into the case sides and then glued into dados on drawers. I tried it on a mock up and it worked pretty good. I wanted to get some thoughts from my fellow lumberjocks. Here is a pic of the tongue and groove cut out. lMy thought is the tongue dadoed into the drawers and the grooves on the case.
