So I’ve decided to head back to school. It’s hard to believe that it was two kids ago since I last stepped foot into a class room. My major is Building Construction/Construction Management and I will be taking all the courses that make up the Cabinet Making Certificate as well since most of them fit into my electives.
I had the privilege of attending the Furniture Making course at Salt Lake Community College for two days right before I dropped out for a few years. The course just happens to be taught by Chris Gochnour from Fine Woodworking. The word is he taught the Cabinet Making course last year and I’m hoping I get some time to pick his brain a bit.
My recent endeavor in Guitar & Amp making has come to a temporary halt while I finish up my Associates Degree and maybe Bachelors if I have the ability to. Weber State University has a direct transfer program for the degree and it’s called Construction Management Technology .
Finally, my two oldest boys, Elliott (7yrs) & Ian (5yrs today), started school today. They are in the Utah Chinese Elementary Immersion Program. This will be Elliott’s 3rd year (2nd grade) and Ian’s first year (kindergarten). I am stoked they get the opportunity to be apart of the program. It’s pretty neat to hear your kids speak another language. It seems like everyone I know from outside the USA speaks more than one language and we thought it would be a helpful thing to know since China has the largest population of people on Earth at 1/3. Not to mention they are the largest single holder of US debt. Haha.
That is all for now.

Michael, I hope that all of your plans go well for you and your family.

Man, you got a lot of great stuff going on right now. Congratulations on making this move. It’s a lot easier to just talk about. My hat’s off to you.
