I plan on building a 2×12 speaker cabinet to mate with my most current tube amplifier build. My 4th son is due tomorrow so I will be on leave for the next few weeks and I’m hoping, on my free time, to get some pictures of my progress posted and walk through the process via these blogs.

“Free time” with a new born? Isn’t that an oxymoron?
Congratulations… Dad!

I built speaker cabinets in my younger daze! LOL. They had to boom..for Rock and Roll. Later I built more well engineered cabinets. I would suggest investing in some older “how too” books. Can get them from Amazon resellers. There are issues in using pine, like is it really pine? wood has expansion and contraction issues. Different wood having different rates. Finishing pine is a “)(**& ” task. Maybe you know that. I use to build tube amplifiers when that was the thing that was available. Wow have you seen the new ones with transistors! LOL. Like to see the process if you have any tiime, which won’t be for awhile…New born!

CessnaPilotBarry: I will go over that in my next post. Don’t want to spoil it.
RonPeters: HaHa, I know really! I have 5 weeks off so I assume I’ll get some time when my wife is at the grandparents.., at least I hope.
DocSavage45: Awesome! I may have to pick your brain a bit then because I’m just starting out and you seem pretty seasoned in speaker box design. I’ll look for some books when I get a chance but first do you have any recommendations for beginners?
With 4 boys 6 years and under you got to take what you can get.
Thanks all!

Just checking Amazon. go for the hardcover and earlier version, as there are complaints about the newer 2000 paperback version. later.
