Here are some pics of my new Stanley/Bailey No. 5-1/2 Corrugated Type 11 Jack Plane. It has not got here yet but I still can’t wait to show it off. I decided to get this exact model after reading The Anarchist’s Tool Chest by Chris...

My name is Michael but you can call me Mikey (or M if you're really lazy). I'm fairly new to woodworking but have wanted to get into it for some time. My current woodworking aspirations are building Guitar Speaker Cabinets and Solid Body Guitars. One day I would love to get into Modern Furniture Design and Small Home Prefab.
I was first tempted by the thought of woodworking when I heard that Jesus was a carpenter. I later saw a violin and cello up close for the first time and wanted to get into woodworking even more but it wasn't until I saw the Goetz Sofa by Herman Miller at age of 17 that I knew I would one day have to design things that were made of wood. Now 12 years (after seeing the Goetz) and 4 kids later I am starting to invest into that dream.
Studied Woodworking, Cabinet Making, Millwork & Furniture Making under Chris Gochnour (Fine Woodworking Magazine) & Chad Fail (SLCC, UT).

So I just picked up a 3 digit serial number gray Model 50 Powermatic jointer for $100. It’s pretty clean. It has the original 3 phase GE 3/4 HP motor. My only issue is that it has a strange 3 prong chord. We have a 4 prong 220 outlet but I...
