Started serious woodworking a short time before Xmas 2010. Made some treasure boxes and airplanes for the two grandkids. The first box the wife says it's to nice to give to kids, so she kept it. I had to start over, made some smaller ones for the kids.....They are 41/2 and 3 years old--they keep all kinds of good stuff (or so the say) in the box... I've done a few thing on the scroll saw which turned out nice- thanks to Steve at scrollsawworkshop.com....I just finished a jewelry box for the daughter-in-law. First jewelry box and inlay and cove and mortise hinges... It turned out ok, but then it's never perfect... oh well the next one will be better.... Making a bread box for the daughter. About me I'm retired from the BNSF railroad.. I do hunting, fishing, gardening... use to golf but the my back tells me that that period of my life is over, anyway my handicap was going up... but then all things come to an end. Really like it here at LJ, just to see all the great projects people do. 1/21/11

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Welcome to LJ. I get a lot of inspiration, ideas, and answers from this site. Don’t hesitate to ask questions.
There are a few of us up here in Montana. One pretty active and a nice guy, Todd Clippinger lives right there in Billings.

Welcome to Lumberjocks, just found out you have been here a while, no, I am not old and slow, but I am
getting there. That is a great feeling, when your wife lets you know she likes your work, and nothing
beats a hug from a grandkid, or greatgrandkid to let you know that you and your work are special, or
that big round eye look and the question, “Will you make me———-?” They also make real good
apprentices, and keep you on your toes. Hope you enjoy this site for many years. From Missoula, just
a little ways over the mountains.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
Wisty
