Cabinet Refacing - Boon or Bust? - 5 replies

Has anyone had anything to do with cabinet refacing lately? I know it was a minor rage a few years back, but since then I’ve been doing other things and was wondering what the state of affairs with it is. I DID not that Quality Doors (MASCO) went belly up last year, and they were supposed to be top of the line. That was the group that...

Help Sought - Router Circle Jig - 12 replies

Ok, this is just plain stupid, and I am pretty sure I am missing the forest for the trees here. Cut out a pattern for a circle jig the other day so I could cut out a 20” circle out of plywood. simple jig made of 1/8 paneling I had laying around. I measured out 10” from the edge of the bit, drilled my center hole and started my c...

Sacrificial Tablesaw fences... Yes, No, Maybe? - 20 replies

OK Folks, what do you think? Sacrificial Tablesaw fences… Yes, No, Maybe? Norm did on on his shop jig show once (I think), and I remember at the time I thought it was a good idea. Now I have an old Beissemeyer fence that has too many years on it and I am trying to figure out what to do with it, and my first thought was a sacrificial f...

Yesterday the chuck on my older delta drill press fell off. Having only had my Shopsmith as a drill press in the past, I expected to just put it back on using a set screw. NOPE. No set screw, no nuthin’! What keeps it on? Could someone please enlighten me about how to put the chuck back on? Thank you! Milo

Replacement laser - 4 replies

Has anyone got a lead on where I can find a replacement laser for my miter saw? It’s just a little think, not much bigger around the a pen with a fairly standard plug in for power. If it weighs an ounce I’ll be shocked. Please let me know if you have a lead. Milo

Beware the Home Depot Scam!!! - 15 replies

BEWARE Men be aware and ladies make sure to inform you husbands or boyfriends. A ‘heads up’ for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers. This one caught me by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. D...

Dang it already... :-( Fence problem... - 17 replies

I spent the morning lining up and drilling to put the fence on my new unisaw. Everything used, and the previous owner did things bass ackwards. I used my smaller biesemeyer to estimate everything I did on this one, but I’ll be danged if when it was all said and down the fence itself did ride up a good quarter of an inch or so off the t...

Finish Advice - Kitchen Island Top - 6 replies

Hey guys, I am finishing up a kitchen island. Very simple job, modified a kitchen cabinet I picked up for a song at the local salvage shop, put on casters, re-enforced the base, and it’s going to work great as a mobile part of the kitchen. I then realized I had a great piece of cherry from an old project I could use for the top. ...

Anti-Kickback Safety Rollers and featherboards - 11 replies
