Go get ‘em, pal!
Welcome to the site. I think you’ll find more than a few of us here who found that the saw cuts straighter without the other addiction in the way. Feels good to create something beautiful and worthwhile. And it feels good to achieve a sense of mastery as you build your woodworking skills. I’m really glad you have a young start at a new life. I hope to see you showcase some of your projects soon.

wow thanks for all the welcomes, im overwelmed. haha, its nice to know that thiere are so many people that would actually stop by and write me a few words. im looking foward to hearing what other woodworkers have to say about things, seeing as how i have never met one person who shares this hobby with me. i have some friend making to do i geuse. i heard about this site from the notorious wood whisperer who never fails to mention this web site. i thought i would see what all the hype was about and check it out. its actually really cool. i get to show off my work, get answers to all my questions, and talk to other woodworkers. sound sweet to me. im gonna try and figure some things out and post up some pictures of my work, ill talk to some of you soon, and once again thanks for the welcome.

Welcome brother, I too am recovering since 86, even worked in a Drug Rehab went to college for it. Fell and broke my back so I dabble with this as a hobby. Mostly do turnings. But have done other things as well. All I know is my life is better than it ever was and I would’nt trade it for the world. God Bless you for starting young and saving yourself a lifetime of pain. If you need anything just holler. jockmike

Hi Mike,
Today’s the first time I’ve seen any of your projects—funny that all of a sudden we’ll see something new that’s been here all along.
Your stuff looks real nice: creative, clean lines, and good tight looking joinery.
Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff over time.
Cheers,
Gary

Hi Mike
Welcome to Lumberjocks. You do some beautiful wood working young man. It is wonderful you get high on woodworking now instead of drugs. Good for you! If you ever have any questions on cabinet construction be sure and ask. If you look at my sight you can see the kind of cabinet work I do most of the time. I do not claim to know it all but can give you my thoughts.
I lived in Lemoore, CA. near Fresno for about five years. My daughter and her family still live in Hanford, CA. in the same area.

Mike,
I have been pretty busy and have not had much time to spend on LJ. This morning I stepped in from the shop and logged on to see your projects featured on “roll the dice” and was motivated to comment.
I have always been moved by your story and am highly impressed with your creativity and craftsmanship. I see that you have posted more projects since the last time that I checked in and I have to say that I love your style and work.
I look forward to your future projects.

Dear Mike,
After viewing your latest credenza project post, I came here to read your profile. I am absolutely blown away that you have made so many incredible pieces at such a young age in two years of woodworking! God has blessed you with incredible talent. Continue woodworking to His glory! I’m praying for you.

Hello Mike,
I read your profile with interest. From the projects I viewed, I think you would be successful in making woodworking as your career. You got the talent, strong will and self determination that would brave your self to take the challenge.
The best luck to you.
