Recently my wife and i started doing some remodeling on our house and I found some old boards and thought that it would be cool to make something out of them. The wood is basically just several pieces of pine and some douglas fir 2×4s. Nothing really spectacular at all but hey free wood is free wood and this stuff is likely original to the house which was built in the 1930s so there is some history to it. Anyways ive been racking my brain on what to do with the stuff with several idea...

Part 2: stock preparation and joinery

First up in this project is to sort through the wood I have available and find pieces that I want to use for each part. As I mentioned in part 1 the wood im using i salvaged from a house remodeling project and its some sort of pine and some douglas fir. here is what im working with Some of the wood is really dirty with caked on dirt and grime along with some roofing tar (these pieces were in the attic). not sure that i wanted to subject my planer and jointer to that much abuse i decide...
