Meeting and sharing ideas online is great, but there is something intimate about getting together with a group of people in person to discuss and share woodworking experiences, tips and techniques. On Long Island, we have the Long Island Woodworkers Club. Tonight is this years last meeting of the Cabinetmakers special interest group. Anyone in the area is welcome to attend.

On that note, perhaps it would be a great feature if you could locate others on LumberJocks based off of their proximity to you.

We have one club here in Vegas but it’s in the far noth end of town and I live in the south end. Their meeting are on Weds. night at 7. Since it’s and hour drive and I have to get up at 4am to go to work I haven’t been able to attend. It’s a shame.
