Giving the boys some exercise on some new wood

Some new wood arrived today for upcoming projects and I thought it was time for some of my kids to get some exercise. So I broke out the no 5 and no 4 for a little curling and shaving work.

I am not totally sure what projects the wood will end up as, except initially a couple cutting boards I promised some relatives recently. I got some cherry, curly cherry, walnut, hickory and jatoba. All nice stuff-looking forward to playing around with it soon.

Nice looking wood Mike!

Looks like the most visible is some walnut.

Now I have got to ask are you on drugs or something?

If it were my kids they would pick up the wood and head straight for the jointer then more exercise off to the thicknesser.

Exercise complete and that timber will come up a treat!

Your tractor looks very similar to one my Dad had many years ago it was called a Farmall.

Rob

Swore off the drugs lol. Dispensed enough in my career for sure. Wood in pic is as follows:
Foreground is hint of the walnut, the no 5 plane is sitting on some cherry and the jatoba (12×24) is underneath. The rest is out of the pic. The tractor is an old Allis Chalmers B model 1949 vintage. Mowed my 3 acres for years and then plowed the driveway every winter for awhile. Now she just sits and waits for me

Thanks Mike.

The tractor is possibly the same vintage but a different manufacturer.
