Mickyscandal's Workshop Mickyscandal's Workshop

Kent, Wa 98042
United States

My humble mess of a workshop. I got a single bay in a 3 car garage at my parents house. although I frequently pull the cars out and make use of the whole garage, the one bay is where everything is stored and the majority of my work is done. This is my first wood shop and my first set of woodworking tools (I’ve been into woodworking since about Oct/Nov 2017) so not only is everything a mess (at least in these pics) bit everything is in a constant state of flux while I decide where I want to put everything and what works best.

The main Machinery in my shop consists of, my Delta 36-725 table saw, my Bosch 2.3hp fixed base router mounted to my Rockler router table with a custom tabletop I made for it, a DeWalt dw735(right model number?) Thickness planer, DeWalt 12” (non sliding) miter saw and an old 12” Craftsman bandsaw.

The biggest obstacle I face right now is Storage Solutions. I only recently installed the pegboard that runs along the back wall so I still need to fill that with tools, but I also need to find a good place to install some shop cabinets because I would say at least 50% of my tools don’t have a dedicated home

Well, that’s my shop as she is right now. But like I mentioned I’m still very new to Woodworking and this shop is still very new so I’m constantly changing stuff. Adding new Machinery moving stuff around and even getting rid of some stuff so I’m sure this description will be changing a lot over the next year or so!

May I suggest a great book?
The title is “Setting Up Shop” by Sandor Nagyszalanczy.
This book helped me organize my shop as well as figure out storage solutions.
