I am going to a woodworking class in April in Kentucky. I am a novice woodworker and I am getting nervous. I will be making a small table with a dovetail drawer. I have never made a table or a dovetail. I figured I better try here at home so I bought some poplar and have started a table. The glue up on the table top went well and I am having fun with the plane trying to make it nice and smooth. I hope there is some thickness to it when I am done. Part 2: Cutting dovetails

I have been busy practicing dovetails. If there is a way to do it wrong I have done it, but last night I was able to make several “right”. I have developed “tennis elbow” with all the hammering with the mallet. It will be a good story to tell the doctor when I get home. We just bought a lathe and Kindlingmaker is having fun making lots of shavings, but I won’t touch it until I get back from class.
