Hello, my name is Michael Gurrado also known as The Flannel Man. I have been Woodworking for a few years now. I currently work for a company that restores and reproduces antique picture frames as my day job. I am the one who mills down the rough lumber cuts it down to the appropriate sizes run it through the shaping machine for various moldings, I custom make special knives for these moldings and assemble the picture frames. In my spare time i tend to not want to make picture frames because i make so many of them for work. I typically make smaller scale items such as boxes, cutting boards and a number of various smaller projects. I want to branch off into much bigger things, I recently upgraded my shop to make the my work flow much better so i will be able to work on these bigger projects much easier. I love working with wood its a passion of mine, i find it calming, relaxing, and i enjoy every minute of it. I am also very happy that i get to do some type of wood working for my day job, although i hope to work for myself one day doing what i love.

I signed up for a local church event sale that happens once a month. This was the first time trying to sell my work at an event. I have heard from many people that a church event is not the right type of event for custom woodworking projects, but ...

Let me start off by saying I am generally very cautious and careful when it comes to operating my tools. I like to make sure my hands are always in a safe area and my ears and eyes are protected. Today while I was working in my shop I was needed t...
I really like having a clean and organized shop space, unfortunately that is very to maintain in a small space. As clean as i keep my shop it always manages to get dusty, messy, unorganized and i end up misplacing everything. I usually like to spe...
