I have played the acoustic guitar for a long time and always wanted to build one to really learn about the instrument from the inside out. After purchasing a kit a year and a half ago I found myself really in over my head and sought out some help locally to learn how to sharpen my tools correctly. A year and a half later I am closing in on completing my first guitar with a lot of supervision from a professional builder here and the camaraderie of some friends. Along the way I have been fascinated with the process of using primarily hand tools along with some selected use of a band saw, drill press and router. I prefer the hand tools as much as possible.

Now I am beginning to pull together the pieces to build the pipe clamp workbench which Jeff has detailed pretty well on this site. Looking forward to putting together a blog of my cam clamp and guitar project along with the workbench when it gets rolling. Also beginning family life full on this early May so life is very joyful at the moment.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Hope to have some pictures posted in the next couple of weeks.

Pete, thanks for the invitation to the BBQ, I would love to meet the local folks in time. My wife and I are expecting our first this May and have a reunion party already scheduled that day with our birthing class… a different sort of graduation party. But hope that we may meet up in the future.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
