no previous part Part 1 of Scroll Saw Portraits - HOW TO series Part 2: Part 2 - Full Non Video Tutorial with screen shots. »

Hello everyone,

As promised, I am going to do a blog as well as a video on how we can get a photo from portrait to pattern. The model for this portrait will be Marnie. A friend of ””The Newfoundland Wood Workers Facebook Page””:http://www.facebook.com/TheNewfoundlandWoodWorker?ref=hl

Once we get the photo finished, we are going to mail this off to Marnie as a keep sake.

So…...... Step one is to find a photo you wish to scroll.

Once we run it through some photo editing; we end up with a pattern

I have at this point all the video I need for the portrait to pattern. Once I get that edited, I will need to video the cutting of the pattern. Once all that is complete and edited, I will upload the video. Slowly but surely.

Thanks everyone.

Regards,

Michael.

So I have good news and bad news for the video. I just edited part of the video and the resolution is so horriable you would never be able to pick out what the menus are…... sucks big time after going through that much work. The good news is. I have a resolve. I am going to do a step by step document in the blog with full pictures and menus with arrows pointing of the process. It will be a tutorial that you can use to follow while making your own portraits. I will do my best to create a tutorial that is easy to follow and helps you get good results as well. I have a new laptop coming around the first week of Feb. Once I get it up and on the go, I will try reshooting the video. For now, I will have to settle with the tutorial. Sorry :(
