Location: Louisiana

I own and operate Hallmark Woodcrafts along with my wife Kathy. my daughter Krystle, and my granddaughter Alexis. We make one of a kind heirloom furniture, clocks ranging from Grandfather to Mantle to Wall Hung. Our shop is an old dairy barn built in 1947 belonging to my wife's grandfather that we converted over, entailing a lot of work. We've been in business since 2003 when we moved back home from Houston after 30 years of too much big city.

Our next endeavour is to start making briar pipes, handmade, unique, and one of a kind. There are so many talented pipemakers out there, with some families being in business for over 2 centuries, we don't expect to corner the market any time soon. A lot of these pipemakers have global reputations and they can demand very good prices for there beautiful smoking pipes. It could take us a generation to even establish any sort of reputation. With my daughter and my talented granddaughter, I have a dream.

I love and have a strong passion for woodworking and think everyone that has wanted to try it should give it a shot. I have several woodworking friends and we communicate regularly sharing our projects, new and old ideas, personal talents, and updates on all the new tools we want for Christmas, Birthdays, Groundhog Day, etc... Don't be afraid to try it. The ugliest pieces I have ever produced still hold a place in my heart and the most extravagant ones still aren't good enough.

Clean up grandpa's old Stanley plane. sharpen his chisels and have the teeth reset on his backsaw. Read all the magazines that your wife will let you stack up around your recliner and go online and subscribe to some of the woodworking sites. Enjoy your time in the shop.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
