2007 - After working 30 years as a child protection social worker, I retired on disablity. Needing to repair a lazy susan corner cabinet in my kitchen and unable to find anyone to do it reasonably, I decided to take a semester in cabinet making at our local trade school and repair it myself. I'd found a new hobby - with something that didn't argue (except the tablesaw, which I've learned not to argue with). With limited funds I took advantage of all free lumber I could get my hands on and proceeded to see what I could build. Since that time I've made numerous things for friends and family and have enjoyed myself thoroughly in doing so. I find my time in the shop to be some of the most rewarding and contented time I have spent in my life. Although my woodworking knowledge is limited, I have been pleased with my results.
