I have begun a new project, actually the first of a few. I am working on a Pennsylvania Spice box for my wife that I hope to have completed before Christmas. Sofar things are going well, I have the case dry fitted and a good start on the inner gallery which will house multiple small drawers and will be my forst attempt at hand cut dovetails. Dont know how many pieces will end up in the fireplace but I am hoping that it will be a small fire. The case is walnut and poplar in the non viewable areas. The door will be walnut frame with a birdseye maple veneer panel, also my first attempt with veneer. The drawer front will be made out of tiger maple with poplar sides and bottom. There is going to be a lot of detail and hand work, lets see how it goes. Pictures to come soon of the progress.

Just a comment. Make it a series, so it is easier for us to follow along.
