This is my chess board before adding boarder
I hope to band it with zebra and blood wood

I gave up on the Zebra wood
it closed on my saw before it could reach the splitter
stopped her dead and blew the breaker
But i think the blood wood is gonna look good
Still searching for the perfect finish

This looks pretty good. The mahogahany and maple make a nice contrast.

I have been meaning to try one of these but just have not worked it into MY schedule (my wife seems to think that HER projects come first).

and

I wanted to try a crazy edge detail but was afraid to ruin so i just went with the 1/4 roundover
I would have had the boarder thicker but the zebra would did not cooperate
so far so good
