So I was sitting one day trying to figure out what to do with a big chunk of cherry that a friend had given me.
see the thing is that it wasn’t dried properly so it cracked like a toronto city road and had knots all thru it…. I didn’t have the heart to tell my friend it was useless. Plus I was stubborn and determined to find a way to make something nice out of it.
I cut a couple useful chunks off to use as accent pieces in the future, but mostly it just keep getting put under my bench for another day…

Until one day I realized a use.
u bought a brand new smoker and needed to make some ribs… so I got my ax.

It was a hard decision but I chopped off chunks and threw them in the shop smoker.
it was than that two things occurred to me.
One. I now have a way to not waste anymore hardwood that is really useless for working with

And two. Sometimes no mater what you just can’t make something work and need to move on. I’m sure there is something deeper to say about it.

Pieces sit waiting collecting dust and could eventually make something awesome , but making tasty ribs was a better option this time
