Kitchen re-finish

Ugggghhhhhh….2/3rds of the way through on this and can’t wait for it to be over. It looks good…but this isn’t fun. Re-finishing is about as fun as smacking myself in the face with a hammer.

You looked like you were having fun at your wine tasting….. are you actually taking down all your kitchen cabinets and refinishing them – or just the doors as most folks do? Like Jim says… let’s see pics to share in the frustration!

Huh….I’m probably just being dumb here….but I don’t see any obvious ‘Photo Uploading’ buttons on the Blog page.

Just pulling the doors, drawers and face veneer on the cabinets. I’m not a huge fan of the cabinets….I’d be replacing them or building them myself if I were taking them down.

Thinking out loud – I wonder what folks (like me) do if they have granite or some other solid surface material and want to REPLACE their base cabinets. My guess is that pretty much never happens.

Got a lot of work done today. We’re at the end of week 3. Completed all the face veneer today, including the island. This means that I’m completely done with everything EXCEPT the remaining door and drawers. Island is done. Molding is done. All exposed surfaces on the cabinetry are done. Yahoo!!

Re-mounted the first door for the upper cabinets this evening. 3 doors, two shelves and 3 drawer fronts in the garage with some level of finish on them. 13 doors and 1 drawer front waiting in the dining room left to go. :-/

(Total for the kitchen – upper and lower cabinets plus island – is 25 doors and 14 drawers)

MaxS – what you need to do is get an account on a place like photobucket and then you have to link in your photos to your blogs. This site only gives you space to load up photos in the projects section.

That’s a bummer. I can just host the pics on my web site. See what I can do later this week. Much rather just upload.

MaxS – if the pics are already hosted on your website you can certainly embed them in the textarea box (this box where you write in your message). You should see the 4th button above where you would write – it’s a button to “insert image”. You just have to put in the web address of the image you are inserting and voila! Click on previous first to be sure it worked.

No….I understand that….I’m just being lazy. The pics are NOT on the site right now. I would need to load them up there. Just an extra step….I’ll get to it this weekend. Thanks for the comments.
