I recently bought Harbor Freight’s $20 dial calipers. I wanted some mechanical calipers that I could kick around the shop without having to worry about batteries or dust. These turned out to be much better than I expected. Here’s my review.

Those are good calipers. I have 3 of them in my shop and they are accurate. Each time i bought one i used their 20% coupon also.

I keep forgetting about those 20% coupons. $16 is even better of a deal.

Thnx for your review. I have this same caliper and like it as well. It does have a quality feel about it. You don’t have to worry about any batteries, and it’s also easy on the wallet.

I’ve been using Harbor Freight dial calipers for years in my metal working and machining (2 metal lathes, 2 vertical mills) and find them to be very accurate for my purposes and well made. Actually, I prefer dial calipers over digital calipers due to the lack of worry over batteries. They are a great choice!!!

Good review, Marty! I’ve been thinking about getting calipers, and this one sounds like the way to go!

Edited to add:

Just looked at HF website, and it lists 2 SKU #’s for this caliper: 62362 & 66541. Which one did you review—or does it make any difference?
